What We Do

Built by Students, for Students

Game Devision was founded in order to support high school students who wanted to learn game development. We discovered that when students reach the college level, they needed ways to demonstrate their skills as mentors and creators. Now, Game Devision is evolving to offer college students a chance to mentor the incoming high school cohorts and to serve as a publisher for student creations.

Why We Exist

Students told us there's a need

Support for game development at the student level is very limited, and sometimes you just need a space to do your thing where everyone appreciates the difficulty of your efforts.

I wish my school had a class or club focused on video game development led by an experienced instructor.

— UC Berkeley Student Survey Respondent

I came from a very poor community, so our resources were scarce. Any classes on game design were nonexistent. I really wish I had people like you.

Courses or clubs at my school for game design would have been fantastic. I was struggling to figure out how I could turn my skills in art into a job.
